Dr. A. Neal Rose currently owns Broad Street Veterinary Hospital and has been the primary veterinarian for 38 years. In 2006, Dr. Jason Hiser joined the practice as associate veterinarian.

Dr. Rose realized early on in life that his passions for medicine and working with animals could combine for a career as a veterinarian. After graduating from Anderson College and Clemson University, Dr. Rose earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1972. Shortly after graduation, he joined Broad Street Veterinary Hospital and later, became the owner.
Loved by pets and their owners for his compassionate and caring nature, Dr. Rose is a big reason why Broad Street Veterinary Hospital is still going strong.
Not only has Dr. Rose dedicated his life to caring for animals, but he has also actively participated in both veterinary and community organizations. He is a member of many professional organizations and has held various leadership roles.

Dr. Rose lives outside Richmond with his wife, Betty, and he has two sons, Ashton and Darren. When he is not caring for animals at Broad Street Veterinary Hospital, he enjoys traveling and photography.

Dr. Jason Hiser
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Hiser joined Broad Street Veterinary Hospital in July 2006. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Frostburg State University, where he played football and majored in biology, Dr. Hiser earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. His veterinary areas of interest include surgery, ophthalmology, and dermatology.
Dr. Hiser’s patients know they can trust him to provide an accurate diagnosis and quality care. They keep coming back because of his caring spirit and ability to make them and their pets feel comfortable.

Dr. Hiser and his wife live in Richmond, and during his time away from the hospital he enjoys cooking, fly fishing, golfing, and hiking.
